Anthropomorphic Larry

Images of Larry Gene morphed with various animals
for a swap called "Anthropomorphic animals."
Naturally, I had to use my son!

What is your heart's desire?

Sci-Fi postcard

The words say "Lost in the paranoia"
(I superimposed the woman at 50 percent opacity over a collage of funky sci-fi headlines)

Black and White

An ATC I made for a Lisa Vollrath swap. The theme was "black and white." This is one of my favorite cards. I've made something similar to this before. The woman and the bare, wintry tree look and feel so ethereal.

The woman is superimposed over a black and white image of tree using a transparency print. I attached it with small brads.

Winter Babies

A chunky page for a LetterHeads swap I hosted called "Winter Babies."
Of course, that's my Larry Gene.

Valentine's greetings XOXO

A few Valentine ATCs I made for a trade with some local artists.

Orange you glad?

A chunky book page for an ORANGE themed swap. This is an ongoing swap through an art group that will likely feature a new color every month.

My pages sort of turned out more "muted orange" than orange, but I think the color theme stands out nonetheless.

Incidentally, can you tell me something about this page, besides the color theme, that ties it altogether? It was serendipitous on my end.

Sweet Heart

This Artist Trading Card is made with a vellum heart sandwiched between cardstock. Light can shine through this. This ATC is one of three I made for a heart-themed swap due next month.

Red is the color

These chunky book pages (4 1/2" x 4") are for a swap themed "Red". The idea is to bind them all into a (rather chunky) book, probably at the end of this year. The host is planning to swap a new color every month.

The chunky refers to the art and embellishments done right on the page, resulting in a page with depth rather than flatness.

Two of the pieces with bits of playing cards in them are moveable. The smaller one comes out of the pocket and the larger one rotates on the eyelet.

This blog wouldn't be complete...

...without a new picture of my beautiful son, who is 7 months old this month!

Larry Gene taking a bath. Photo taken in December.

Hold the Fish.

My latest postcard, completed in December. The theme was "Hold the fish." Really.

She wanted to travel

A postcard from October. The theme had something to do with creating "postage stamp head people." :-)
The writing says:
"It was doomed from the start.
"She wanted to travel.
"He didn't want children."

Back in the art-saddle again!

Swap theme: What's in Your Head?

OK, that was a lame title, but it's true. It's been months since I've found the time to do any art. Larry Gene, my family and going back to work full time keep me plenty busy! I forced myself to get out the Exacto knife and PVA adhesive by signing up for three fun postcard swaps. This is the first, completed last weekend.
(And, yes, that's my son in the picture! Isn't he adorable? He smiles all the time!)

My Cutie Pie!

My clever son has a sly little smile that promises lots of eye-winking trouble later on!
He is loved so much.
